My Detox Diet

The Detox that I chose has all kinds of controversy behind it and I’m not going to say it’s the best or only way to go, but it’s the road I took, and here I’ll explain why. I needed a dual-purpose detox, one for both toxins in my foods and from alcohol. That’s right it’s time to get this stuff out of my system. I also needed my stomach and my brain to know that it was okay to feel a little hungry. Up to this point that hunger signal meant that I needed to eat NOW, and the hungrier I became the worse my cravings for sugary carbs would become. So here it is, I decided to start the HCG diet along with my wife. For those who don’t know about the diet, it entails a strict regimen of the HCG hormone taken daily by either injection or oral drops, and diet. The homeopathic versions are available over the counter however the higher dose stuff is only available from doctors. With this diet you have to eat a limited diet of vegetables and protein for a total of 500 calories a day. The HCG hormone diet is supposed to help your body burn fat storage and not lean muscle mass. It also helps you from feeling hungry. I am not endorsing this diet, however I do want people to see how it can work as well. You defiantly need to talk to your doctor about doing this diet as well before you start.

So do your own research on the specifics of the diet, and ask questions if you want an opinion. For me I believe this was a great start for my transformation for at least three reasons. 1) I planned on using it shorter term to kick off my weight loss, and like I talked about to let my stomach get used to not being full all the time; 2) You are not allowed to drink alcohol or diet soda, both are hard to kick; 3) It makes you look at food in a whole new way! Every bit of meat you consume, every last vegetable bite restores my love and appreciation for the nutrition and fuel it provides for my body and you can feel this.

The good always comes with the bad and I would be lying if I said this was an easy diet. You really need to do it with your significant other if possible. It takes a lot of planning and food preparation. You also may feel weak and warn out for a lot of the time your on the diet. And for me the worst part… Feeling light headed and or headaches on and off in the beginning. So follow along with me as I go through this diet, that I am using for a detox and lets see how it goes.
